Can you believe that July is here, completely crazy! Beautiful fall is now on its way and there are gorgeous places that have to be explored! Here are a couple of cities and country-side must visits! Please let us know some of your favorites!

1. Paso Robles, California

Paso Robles in California is an undercover fall treat. It is nestled among rolling hills between San Francisco and Los Angeles. This beautiful wine region is idyllic, offers gorgeous views and has irresistible Petite Syrahs at every turn.

2. Denver, Colorado

The leaves start turning into their beautiful fall colors early in the resort towns outside Denver. In early October, the city’s foliage takes center stage and you can get amazing views along the High Line Canal or from the Cherry Creek Bike Trail. It is beautifully lined with brilliant yellow cottonwood trees, sounds gorgeous!

3. Portland

Portland has amazing local foliage and to get the best view, hike up Bradbury Mountain which is just outside town. A bit of exercise amid the foliage is beautiful! Portland is a lobster-filled city. Dig in at October’s acclaimed foodie-palooza Harvest on the Harbor where you can have amazing samples at the Grand Tasting, as well as the Maine Lobster Chef of the Year competition where you get to taste the delicious food and vote alongside the judges.

4. Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

This is absolutely breathtaking! Fall adds to this amazing area when the big-leaf maples, twisted pines, firs, Oregon ash and cottonwoods start to show their beautiful colors. It is highly recommended that you take in the golden and bronze hues by hiking, driving along the Columbia River, hiking, or even rafting or kayaking down the river.

5. Louisville

Kentucky city is the world’s third highest producer of bourbon whisky and what a better way to celebrate this is toasting to their famous city during September’s National Bourbon Heritage Month. You can continue enjoying this by celebrating all fall along Lousiville’s 34-stop Urban Bourbon Trail. Awesome to keep yourselves nice and toasty!

6. Glacier National Park, Montana

The Glacier National Park is a dream fall foliage destination. It is an absolutely amazing place to see larch trees that turn bright gold in the fall. The yellow larch are set against the backdrop of the massive snow-covered peaks of the Continental Divide. Animal fanatics can see bighorn sheep, mountain goats, bears and elk all preparing for winter. Sounds like it is the most dramatic autumn scene in the US! Go and visit!

7. Chicago

During the early autumn months, Chicago offers some amazing dancing festivals! September kicks things off with the World Music Festival, the punk-powered Riot Fest, and the Hyde Park Jazz Festival. In October the festive quirky Great Chicago Fire Festival arrives which features flaming sculptures, acrobatics and music. Sounds like such fun and a definite must!

8. Providence

Come fall, blazing foliage lights Providence up and bonfires line the city’s rivers which illuminates the gorgeous evenings through October. Fall brings some quirky entertainment where Providence hosts the Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival and Steel Yard does an “Iron Pour”. Fun times!

9. The Berkshires, Massachusetts

The Berkshires provide world-class foliage viewing. There are gorgeous mountain hamlets which are set against a beautiful backdrop of crimson autumn colors. Here you can spend your days visiting galleries or antique stores. Alternatively you can treat yourself and spend the weekend at one of the spas, soaking in the sweeping autumn views.

10. Santa Fe

Fall is the delicious chili harvest season in this southwestern city. There are yum smells of roasted peppers emanating from roadside stands. In early October, you can hike the beautiful Aspen Vista trail which is close – about 14 miles from downtown, or you can have some fun at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

11. New York

There are many awesome places to see in NY. During autumn people love strolling down to the meadow near Belvedere Castle, which gets covered with red leaves from the black tupelo trees. Exploring the High Line between 30th and 34th streets is a firm favorite. Well into October, you can enjoy its seasonal food kiosks around this exciting city!

12. Great Smoky Mountains, North Carolina and Tennessee

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is amazing! There are more than 100 species of native trees including sweet-gums, hickories and scarlet oaks which put on a gorgeous autumn display of gold, orange, crimson, and purple. Have an amazing holiday by spending days exploring these stunning forests!

More than a million tourists flock to view the fall foliage every October in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
